Becca Tillman first started out in the industry 20 years ago in Tunica, Mississippi at Cesars Casino. After making her way as a server , she decided to work her way to becoming a bartender. Reflecting on her time spent in the hospitality industry she loves the camaraderie with her co-workers and being able to make someone smile after they have had a bad day.

According to Becca, “Being in this industry is not for everyone. It’s not just ‘slinging drinks’. You have to be able to multitask and adapt to whatever situation is handed to you. Being able to read your customers and their needs, is a plus for sure!” When she isn’t behind the bar, Becca can be found throwing ball in the park with Shogun, her Doberman Pinscher. July 2016: Matt & Dawson Flinchbaugh

Business History
Matt started in the Service & Hospitality industry back in 1990. He started as a host and worked his way up to Bartender and Manager. Dawson served in the Marine Corps for six years, sold life insurance, ran a horse farm and headed a digital imaging business. He also served as president of the Wormleysburg Borough Council and chairman of the Dauphin County Historical Society. In 2003 Matt saw a great opportunity and asked Dawson to help run the restaurant. They decided to seize the opportunity and run with it. The rest is history.

About the Business
They added the Train Wreck Deck in late 2004, which ended up being great for business. They added catering in 2008 offering assistance with parties, meetings and special events. One of their signature items is the ‘Hot Rock’ where diners cook their own meals on a volcanic stone. It’s not just a meal it’s an adventure in dining. Flinchy’s is known nationally for their award winning chili and Chef Craig’s Championship Lobster and Crab soups.

Giving Back
Matt recently was named, Man of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central Pennsylvania Chapter. He raised over $277,000 for their campaign. Flinchy’s believes strongly in ‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors’ and they go out of our way to make this happen. Matt Started Flinchypalooza as a fundraiser on the River but moved it to Flinchy’s about five years ago. They raised over $15,000 for the Lower Allen Police Department. They used the donation to purchase a K9 dog, outfit the car and train the officer. Flinchy’s has also donated many thousands of dollars to Lower Allen for Youth Programs. After Matt’s sister passed away from a heart attack, Flinchy’s raised almost $10,000 for the PA Heart Association.
